Travel Girls’ Getaway To Maui

Travel Girls’ Getaway To Maui

I’m so excited to share this information with you, let’s get straight to it!

Transportation:

American Airlines

  • American Airlines offered the most affordable and time efficient round-trip flight option. A couple of great websites to use for your flight search are Kayak (which you’ve probably heard of) and Skyscanner. You may not have heard of Skyscanner, but it has been my number one website to search for flights. You have the option to search amongst multiple dates across multiple months and airline carriers.

Stay:

Residence Inn by Marriott Maui Wailea

  • In my opinion, staying here is what made our trip so affordable! When searching for a hotel, I look for cleanliness, space, and amenities. I researched so many hours, so many days and nights to make sure I was making the right decision and I can honestly say I made the right decision! The rooms are so spacious and great for groups and families with mini kitchens. The hotel offers a FREE shuttle that goes to many restaurants, an outdoor mall, and many beaches. We never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes to use the shuttle, which allowed us to save money by skipping out on a car rental (most resorts charge a daily parking fee as well). This resort also offers FREE breakfast. The breakfast is American-style offering fresh fruit, DYI waffles, DYI granola yogurt bowls, bacon, sausage, pastries, bagels...etc. Visit the hotel’s website for more info on this amazing resort.

Excursions:

  • Haleakalā Sunrise Activity - After scouring Yelp and YouTube for cool things to do in Maui, I booked this activity with Skyline Hawaii. This excursion included SAFE transportation to the top of the volcano, a free, DELICIOUS  breakfast, and free windbreakers and mittens (it felt like winter at the top of the volcano; we also brought our own winter coats and boots from home).

  • Te Au Moana Luau - The Luau was held at the GORGEOUS Wailea Beach Resort, Marriott Maui right in front of the beach shore (when the sun was out it was blazing hot, but as the sun was setting it was a beautiful view). We booked the “preferred seating” option, but in my opinion there is no bad seat for the show.

  • West Maui & Molokai Helicopter Tour with Oceanfront Landing - We booked this activity with Air Maui. If you are a member of Costco, then you can purchase this excursion at a discounted price. Naturally, I was scared to do this activity, but once aboard the helicopter, Captain Cameron made us feel so safe and I was completely enamored with and distracted by God’s beautiful creation. We saw so many waterfalls, valleys, and cliffs-I never saw anything like this in my life!

  • Other activities we didn’t get a chance to do, but would love to do on our next trip: Visit: Big Beach, Road to Hana, Maui Ocean Center, and Ioa State Park.

Honorable Mentions:

  • We used Maui Grocery Service for grocery delivery. Pros: We saved money by eating in for lunch and also saved vacation time by paying for someone else to go shopping for us. Cons: I personally may have over-estimated how much groceries we needed during our stay in Maui. I also realize the shuttle could’ve taken us to a local market to pick up a few groceries.
  • Because we didn’t have a car, we used Lyft for our airport and helicopter transfers, which costs about $37 each way during our visit.
  • We visited late August and the beaches and resorts were not crowded. The weather was also wonderful.

I hope you find this post useful and I hope it has convinced you to visit Maui! You may have a perception that Maui is only for couples and honeymooners, but that can’t be furthest from the truth! We saw so many families, groups of friends, and even solo travelers. There is so much for every type of traveler to do on the island of Maui! Any more questions? Feel free to DM me on Instagram or ask in the comments below : )

Sincerely,

@Iam_ellev

Before my trip to NYC, I came across this café called the, LRoom, on social media. What I saw was no ordinary latte and hot chocolate; the lattes looked like pure gold, so I knew I had to visit during my trip. www.findandjourney.com www.fandjbrand.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/findandjourney/
