NOLA Love

We spent 4th of July weekend this year in NOLA! The annual Essence Festival was held in New Orleans, Louisiana again this year, which attracts thousands of fans from all across the country! Essence Fest is all about empowering black women with vibrant New Orleans as the setting for the weekend.
We stayed at the Hilton New Orleans Hotel Riverside where many attractions such as the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Harrah's Casino, and Bourbon Street are within walking distance!
During the financial, beauty, and entertainment workshops at the convention center and during our holiday, we saw many celebrities such as Tachina Arnold, Big Tigga, Michelle Williams, Claudia Jordan, TD Jakes, Morris Chestnut, and many more.
In the days leading up to our trip, we were fantasizing about the seafood. We ate at the historical Mother's right in the middle of downtown New Orleans. The line was wrapped around the corner, but the food was well worth the wait. We both ate succulent fried shrimp with macaroni & cheese.
Our most memorable moment was Friday night on Bourbon Street. Before we arrived, we were warned that Bourbon Street had a very "unique" smell and it was definitely unique to say the least LOL Our mother decided to let her hair down and ride the mechanical bull at Cowboy Bourbon-she lasted all of 2 seconds and to be honest we were surprised she lasted that long-AND we have blackmail/video of the whole thing ;)
Check out our pictures from our New Orleans journey below :)

Before my trip to NYC, I came across this café called the, LRoom, on social media. What I saw was no ordinary latte and hot chocolate; the lattes looked like pure gold, so I knew I had to visit during my trip. www.findandjourney.com www.fandjbrand.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/findandjourney/
